Hawaii has been given separate consideration in AM Federal Communication Commission rules because of the physical separation between Hawaii and the mainland.Fewer restrictions are placed on Hawaii because of its greater distance from the mainland stations, and, therefore, the reduced possibility of interference to other stations.-
