Mario Gutiérrez Cru. Por su seguridad (2008-09). Arte, vigilancia y control social

This article explores the evolution of Mario Gutiérrez Cru’s work from 2008 to 2009 in relation to surveillance and social control. Through interventions in public space, actions and installations with slides, videos and photographs, he seeks to question the normalisation ofsurveillance in our lives. It poses a reflection on the state of control and on our need or not to control ourselves. In an era in which data has become the new power, her work becomes a form of resistance, an attempt to give the body back to the subject under surveillance. All of this in a participatory, real-time and conscious way.
