Improving Sensory Environments: A Practical Guide to Person-Centred Healthcare Settings
A 'how-to' design guide with activity pack on sensory architecture and design for NHS hospitals developed by a working group that includes members of the National Arts in Hospitals Network and Architects for Health (UK). The overarching aim is to encourage architects, designers and healthcare clients to get involved in ‘good’ sensory design in newly built hospitals and renovations. By engaging researchers, designers and healthcare organisations, the guide collates expertise on sensory design at a range of scales: from furniture and objects, to arts, interior design and architecture. The activity pack includes printable resources and a list of suggested materials that you may wish to provide when taking part in an activity.
