GAZİ ÜNİVERSİTESİ SANAT EĞİTİMİ KONULU LİSANSÜSTÜ TEZLERİNİN (2010–2024) TEMATİK İÇERİK VE YÖNTEM AÇISINDAN İNCELENMESİ

This study aims to examine postgraduate theses completed between 2010 and 2024 in the Department of Art Education at the Institute of Educational Sciences, Gazi University, in terms of their thematic and methodological characteristics. A total of 220 theses were analyzed using the descriptive survey model, based on document analysis. The data were evaluated through content analysis focusing on variables such as degree level, publication year, research method, data collection tools, sample groups, and thematic content. The findings indicate that the majority of the theses are at the master’s level, with a balanced use of qualitative and quantitative methods, while mixed methods are more prominent at the doctoral level. Common data collection techniques include experimental designs, case studies (interviews and observations), artistic practices, and standardized scales. The most frequently studied sample groups were students, followed by teachers, academics, artists, and disadvantaged groups. Six major themes emerged from the content analysis: instructional methods in art education, traditional arts and cultural heritage, community-based art practices, technology integration, assessment and evaluation processes, and student psychology and individual differences. These results demonstrate that postgraduate research in art education contributes significantly to pedagogical innovation, cultural transmission, technological application, and personal development.
