Exploring the Nexus of Cross-Border Trade Credit, Trade Flows, and Bank Credit
This paper investigates whether trade credit facilitates global trade flows in a comprehensive way using cross-border data, and whether there is a 'trade credit channel' that offsets the bank credit channel by estimating the given effects are more pronounced during the money tightening period.a The results suggest that trade credit has a positive impact on trade flows. However, the relationship between trade credit and bank credit remains uncertain.
