Dimensionamento ottimizzato di micro-reti per l’elettrificazione rurale: effetto della stima della domanda sulla progettazione ottima.

Energy is the backbone of the modern economy. Access to clean, safe and reliable energy carriers fosters increased productivity and strengthens the local economy, with important social and health benefits. For these reasons, energy poverty represents one of the most urgent and complex challenges of our time, particularly in rural areas of developing countries, where the geographical, infrastructural and social context makes the electrification process particularly difficult. In the face of such a context, microgrids represent a possible solution. This thesis work contributes to the development of the PyPSA-Distribution project, an open source tool for modeling energy systems, with a focus on the management and optimization of low- and medium-voltage distribution networks. The results obtained can support the evaluation of the technical-economic feasibility of micro-grids, optimizing their design, sizing and component placement.
