Data-driven critical review of near-field through-the-body wireless power transfer
Smart implanted medical device rely on Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) for battery-less operations. Power and communication links are generally exploited in the near field with the external antenna placed on the body or at a very short distance from it. Capturing the relationship between geometrical and electrical parameters with power transfer efficiency can not be achieved by analytical forms. Here we explore a data-driven model of the through-the-body WPT based on a data set of real experiments collected from the open literature. By this way we derive some statistical evidences and a unitary fitting formula for the exploration of possible undocumented interesting configurations of size and frequency to maximize the through-the-body remote empowering and communication.
