«МЕЛОДІЯ» МИРОСЛАВА СКОРИКА ЯК КОД НАЦІОНАЛЬНОЇ КУЛЬТУРНОЇ ПАМʼЯТІ: ІНТЕРПРЕТАЦІЯ ЗАСОБАМИ ШТУЧНОГО ІНТЕЛЕКТУ

This article explores the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool for the digital interpretation of musical works, using Myroslav Skoryk’s iconic Melody as a case study. The research analyzes the cultural and philosophical dimensions of digitalization in the arts, focusing on the evolving role of the artist, new forms of representation, and the transformation of artistic perception in the digital age. Particular attention is paid to the philosophical and ethical challenges posed by AI-driven artistic practices, including issues of authorship, authenticity, and the shifting role of the artist in collaboration with algorithmic systems. A comprehensive approach is presented to examine AI as both a medium of contemporary artistic inquiry and a means of preserving Ukrainian musical heritage. The study assesses the potential of generative AI technologies (including ChatGPT, Grok, Gemini 2.5 Pro, and Leonardo) to preserve, reinterpret, and visualize the emotional and cultural depth of Melody as a symbol of Ukrainian national identity. It is demonstrated that AI-generated visual representations can convey the emotionalsemantic structure of a musical work while maintaining a strong connection to Ukrainian cultural codes. The article identifies both the prospects and risks of integrating traditional artistic forms with AI technologies — particularly in terms of authenticity, ethical boundaries, and cultural identity. Key risks include the potential loss of artistic originality, reduction of complex meanings to superficial symbols, ambiguity in authorship, and the replacement of human creativity with algorithmic simulation. Nonetheless, the study argues that AI, when applied with ethical awareness and cultural sensitivity, can serve not only as a technical tool but also as a collaborative partner in the preservation and transformation of cultural memory. This research represents the first comprehensive attempt in Ukrainian academic discourse to critically assess the role of AI in engaging with classical musical heritage within the framework of digital culture.
