The article explores the social aspects of the economic behavior of participants in market relations, which are a determining factor in the efficiency of the country's economic processes. The role of social institutions, such as the state, family, religion, education, and media, in shaping the economic decisions of individuals and groups is analyzed. It is established that the effectiveness of social institutions is an important factor in economic development, while their dysfunction can lead to instability. Special attention is paid to group behavior, including crowd effects, group polarization, and cognitive biases. The specifics of the economic behavior of market participants in Ukraine during crisis situations (using the example of the COVID-19 pandemic) are revealed, highlighting changes in consumer priorities, the transition of businesses to online entrepreneurial models, and increased state support. It is established that social institutions influence the stability of market relations by forming rules, norms, and mechanisms of interaction. Attention is also drawn to the uneven development of social capital and cultural traditions in Ukraine, which affect the economic behavior of market participants. It is concluded that to enhance the effectiveness of economic relations in Ukraine, it is necessary to develop social institutions, particularly by increasing public trust in state and financial institutions through transparency and the efficiency of their work. Efforts should focus on stimulating the development of social capital, digitalizing market relations, encouraging the digital transformation of businesses, and implementing online tools to facilitate interaction between market participants in the face of modern challenges in Ukraine. Additionally, mechanisms for support in crisis situations need to be developed.
