Yeni Dini Hareketler

New forms of belief and structures referred to as new religious movements have long been a topic of discussion in the Western world. However, this field has only recently begun to develop in Turkey. This phenomenon, which can be seen as a result of differences in social structure, is likely to influence the way in which new religious movements are studied. Therefore, examining the organisational forms of these movements and developing typologies will reveal semantic perspectives on new forms of belief and contribute to the advancement of research in this area. Indeed, Özlem Uluç's work, which is analysed in this study, not only presents the forms of new religious movements in the West within a sociological framework but also paves the way for new research in this field through the examples it provides.
