Standard Japanese name of Aphyocypris kikuchii (Teleostei: Cyprinidae)

Aphyocypris kikuchii (Oshima, 1919), an endemic species of Taiwan, is introduced in the Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The species was previously recorded as Aphyocypris chinensis Günther, 1868. A new standard Japanese name, “Kikuchi-hinamoroko”, is proposed for the species, based on a specimen collected from the Izu Peninsula.
