Reading for Pleasure: International Perspectives
Decades of research have illuminated our understanding of the diverse ways in which reading for pleasure is experienced and enacted, and has offered important insights into both the causes and consequences of reading for pleasure. Within this book, leading international researchers, often writing alongside early career scholars, provide contemporary reviews to deepen our understanding about reading for pleasure. The book has been structured into four sections to examine this expansive research area in depth, although we recognise the interplay between these different areas. The sections focus upon understanding readers, the nature of texts, pedagogies and practices, and environments conducive to reading for pleasure.
