Özal Dönemi Ekonomik Dönüşümün Analitik İncelemesi ve Dış Politikaya Etkileri
The Özal era represents a significant period of transformation in Turkey's economy and foreign policy. The neoliberal policies and January 24 Decisions implemented in the 1980s marked a transition to a free market economy, reducing the state's role in the economy and liberalizing foreign trade. During this period, Turkey's foreign policy also underwent changes, with strengthened relations with the West and a multi-directional foreign policy approach. In this article, the liberalisation process in Özal-era Turkey is evaluated within the framework of SWOT analysis. The strengths of this period include economic growth, privatisation efforts and opening up policies. Weaknesses include social inequalities, political instability and social tensions. Opportunities are characterised by increased international trade and an improved investment climate, while threats include global economic fluctuations and domestic political uncertainties. In this framework, SWOT analysis serves as an important tool to better understand the dynamics of the liberalisation process and to develop strategic orientations.
