Method Validity in Post Basin Drain Water Contamination Test

The Stormwater Management Water Project at Johnson County Community College has been a key initiative with respect to water quality and sustainability. Originally, this construction of natural filters, soil, and bio-engineered wetland was designed to respond to dwindling ecosystems caused by new development runoff from the parking lots on the south side of campus. The project aims to redirect stormwater caught on concrete surfaces, while filtering the water and returning it to appropriate locations. Water samples were collected after it had passed through the stormwater basin. Experimental techniques and comparative methods will be discussed for certain contaminants found in the water. It is essential to the maintenance of environments surrounding JCCC to reliably determine the chemical content of this runoff water.
