El texto autobiográfico en el duelo por suicidio
Nothing Holds Back the Night, by Delphine de Vigan, and Lo que no tiene nombre, by Piedad Bonnett, are autobiographical texts in which the authors face the grief of the suicide of two close family members. This work aims to identify the mechanisms through which this grief is articulated. Firstly, the authors' approach to comprehension of suicide through writing will be related to Gadamer’s hermeneutic method in The primacy of the question, as well as to the existential disquiet of confessions according to María Zambrano. Secondly, James Olney's distinction of the problems of autobiography based on the emphasis on life, subject, and writing will be used. These autobiographical texts identify the fundamental limitations of memory or language, and, at the same time, it is through these abilities that a possibility of grief is achieved.
