Differentiatieprocessen in basalt: een natuurlijk en experimenteel onderzoek
The findings of this thesis significantly enhance our understanding of basalt differentiation by providing quantitative constraints on trace element behaviour and offering new perspectives on the magmatic processes that shape basaltic rocks. The integration of experimental partitioning data with natural observations allows for a more robust understanding of magmatic evolution in basaltic systems as a whole, and this work has broader implications for interpreting the geochemical signatures of basaltic minerals in both terrestrial and extraterrestrial settings, demonstrating that the distribution of elements within crystals that lead to zoning patterns can provide important insights into basaltic differentiation processes
