Cientifismo de la psicología clínica en España: del pasado al futuro
There are chronic epistemological problems affecting research and the practice of the regulated specialty of clinical psychology. This qualitative contribution is about the scientific foundations, either already applied or to be applied in Spain, for clinical psychology in particular. The following matters are set out: 1.) The clinical psychology constitutive facts as specialised discipline; 2.) Official degrees with state rank of clinical psychology and general health psychology, which are still contending with their most basic fundamentals, although in a different way; 3.) Scientifity praised by current clinical psychology and which is partly disappointing at the same time; and 4.) The relationship between clinical psychology and the treatments of mental, behavioural or neurodevelopmental disorders and the corresponding implication of some ethical and scientific matters. As a conclusion, an optimised approach on mental health is needed, including the knowledge provided by medicine, psychology, phenomenological philosophy and philosophy of mind.
