ОСОБЛИВОСТІ ВИРОБНИЦТВА СОЦІАЛЬНОЇ СОЛІДАРНОСТІ В МОДЕРНІЙ СВІТ-СИСТЕМІ
Production of social solidarity is a necessary process in development of social systems. In social sciences this process is often studied within national societies. In this article social solidarity is examined in the context of the modern world-system. Such an approach allows to conceive production of social solidarity within more global perspective from the very beginning. Theoretical base of this article is I. Wallerstein’ theory of the modern world-system. But some concepts and categories of E. Durkheim’ sociology are also used in the article. French classic of sociology believed that production of social solidarity takes place in the context of religious life which consists of collective representations and ritual practices. Durkheim believed that if there are common, generally accepted collective representations in society, and inhabitants of society practice ritual interactions corresponding to these representations, then it leads to inhabitants are united into single moral community, and strong bonds of solidarity are produced between them. In the article an assumption is made that there is a religious life in Durkheimian’ sense in the modern worldsystem. Geoculture of liberalism has caused emergence of this religious life. Values, ideals and worldview guiding lines of liberalism underlined generally accepted collective representations, which promote forming of united social communities on national and potentially on supranational levels in the modern worldsystem. Structural elements of construction of liberal state enabled execution of modern ritual practices by inhabitants of the modern world-system. This caused production of social solidarity. If liberalism loses its positions as geoculture, then social solidarity can weaken in the modern world-system. Contradictions between countries of different production regions come to the fore sharply.
