Sending a Message

My project stems from an overall course assignment deriving from my CORE4990 class. The ultimate goal of my project is to educate individuals on the problems that public schools face with underfunding. It has become apparent that individuals within public school communities and stakeholders do not receive adequate information on how funding is provided for public education, nor how it is distributed. I would like to educate individuals on how funding is distributed to public schools as well as raise awareness of the inadequate funding that public schools receive and address the lack of resources and opportunities students are left with. This will be done by utilizing physical postcards that include a diverse range of schools including well-funded institutions versus inadequately funded institutions to highlight the differences and raise the conversation as to why the differences perpetuate problems of educational disparities. The primary audience for my presentation will be for the students and other individuals within the area who may go on and advocate for proper funding within public institutions.
