Experiencia sobre escucha musical en la educación superior: propuesta para mejorar la motivación en la asignatura de música

This study aims to promote conscious listening in the music classroom, which has been weakened in nowadays’ education and replaced by methodologies that generate higher stimulation. The research seeks to show that changing the approach in a music classroom experience within the Education Degree can significantly improve student motivation. The applied methodology, based on role reversal and active student participation in selecting and analyzing repertoire, has led to greater engagement in the learning process. Allowing students to take responsibility for choosing the music they want to work with, helps them build a more meaningful connection with the content. Future research should focus on evaluating the medium-term impact of active listening on concentration and memory throughout the course, as well as analyzing how digital platform algorithms influence students’ musical preferences. Ultimately, it is also important to define appropriate criteria for selecting repertoire in the classroom when they take on teaching roles.
