Українське візуальне мистецтво у парадигмах ХХІ століття: світоглядні зміни воєнної доби
This article explores the transformation of Ukrainian art in response to the challenges posed by the Russo-Ukrainian War, which has prompted a reimagining of the hero figure and national identity. Once perceived as part of post-Soviet culture, Ukrainian art has gained international recognition, becoming a vital force in preserving cultural heritage and affirming Ukrainian identity on the global stage. Recent events have compelled artists to engage more actively with the global cultural discourse, moving away from postmodernist practices. Today, the image of the hero in Ukrainian art reflects real individuals whose actions and sacrifices symbolize the defense of humanity against destruction. Ukrainian artists inspire European audiences to reconsider their own values and to recognize the importance of freedom and heroism. Alongside material resources, culture and art have emerged as essential components of Ukraine’s national security. They not only safeguard national identity but also serve as powerful motivators for the defense of the state, emphasizing Ukraine’s cultural distinctiveness and its resilience in the face of external threats.
