Авторська інтерпретація онімного простору в романі Анастасії Левкової «За Перекопом є земля»
The study is devoted to the study of linguistic means of expression of the universal category of space. Each national-cultural community that occupies a certain area tries to construct and verbalize the surrounding reality with the help of specific linguistic means that reflect the mentality of the people. The study of these means contributes to the disclosure of the purely national character of spatial ideas. In modern artistic texts, authors offer new concepts of their own vision of space and time, new cultural codes and author’s means of their realization. In each text, we come across different interpretations of certain words that have been used in the language for a long time, which allows the author to create a new text as an intertext, as an infinite number of contexts that can be perceived in different ways. The artistic text, its subject matter and genre diversity affect the language units that are part of it. The author’s text realizes a new meaning generated by the context and era described by the writer. The main function of onomastic units in a literary text is aesthetic, which consists in the property of creating additional to the main meaning – contextual, background, associative, etc. In the article, we analyze the process of acquiring additional semantic nuances and connotations by proper names using the example of the analysis of anthropoethonyms from Anastasia Levkova’s novel «Behind Perekop there is a land», the heroes of which are representatives of various nationalities that inhabited Crimea and Ukraine. Literary toponyms are able to be filled with additional meaning, to realize all their own meanings in the text. Stylistically neutral proper names still form the general picture of a certain region, and also convey the author’s perception of the environment.
