Pedagogy is a science that aims to organise the systematic learning activities of the student through the use of various techniques, methods and forms of teaching and upbringing. The subject of pedagogy is the process of learning and development of the individual, and the methods are its tools. A modern teacher, as an active participant in educational activities, organising them within the classroom or involving students in extracurricular activities, must have high-quality tools. That is why, when starting their own professional activity in an educational institution, they master classical and innovative methods of pedagogy, explore educational technologies, etc. In their teaching practice, many professionals actively use progressive tools and innovative methods, digital technologies, strive to organise lessons in a modern format, forgetting how important the classical concepts of pedagogy are, which are the basis of the entire educational process. In this article, we draw attention to the importance of traditional ways of organising learning, looking for ways to adapt classical pedagogical methods to the conditions of distance and blended learning. Given that the process of acquiring knowledge has undergone significant transformations and is carried out not only within the classroom, but has also moved into the digital space, the problem of adapting pedagogical methods to the context and requirements of distance education is becoming increasingly relevant. Emphasising the importance of the classical tools of teachers, we list the adaptations we have used in our practical work to improve the quality of the educational process in the conditions that are relevant now. The proposed recommendations are general, but they can be modified depending on the discipline being taught.
