"Tirar la chancleta". Women's movement, agency and politicization of feminist identities in Rosario in the 1980s
This article addresses a set of factors that converged in the birth and expansion of a certain feminist identity in the city of Rosario since the mid-1980s within Indeso Mujer. A local experience that converges with other groups and NGO such as GRR (1980) or Casa de la Mujer (1986) and constitute paradigmatic experiences of the rhythms and modalities that the feminist agenda and the struggles for the expansion of rights and processes of construction of the movement itself acquired in the local and national scene. In this sense, we intend to give an account of the evolution of a women's movement that grew in agenda and massiveness in the particular context of Argentina's democratic transition. Specifically, we will focus on the analysis of the publications of Indeso Mujer and interviews conducted with part of the founding group, seeking to reinstate the political meaning of their projects of action and transformation, in their relationship with the city and the women of Rosario.
