Trabzon Kertenkelesinin (Darevskia obscura) Vücut Yağı ve Deri Ekstraktının Antioksidan Kapasitesi

In this study, the antioxidant activity of body fat and skin extract from Darevskia obscura (Spiny-Tailed lizard) was evaluated. Antioxidant capacity was analysed by DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical; C18H12N5O6) free radical scavenging method. According to the results obtained, the antioxidant activity of the oil isolated from the body parts of D. obscura male individuals was recorded as 90.63%. The antioxidant activity of the oil isolated from the body parts of D. obscura female individuals was 94.22%. The antioxidant activity of the oil isolated from the skin parts of D. obscura samples was 75.67% for male individuals and 61.78% for female individuals. This suggests that D. obscura lizard fat may be a natural source of antioxidants. The data obtained support the pharmacological potential of traditional animal treatment applications and form the basis for further research.
