“UN CENTRO TRASHUMANTE”: RAINER MARIA RILKE Y PHILIPPE JACCOTTET TRADUCIDOS POR JUAN ANDRÉS GARCÍA ROMÁN Y RAFAEL-JOSÉ DÍAZ
This paper analyses the Spanish translations of poems of Rainer Maria Rilke by Juan Andrés García Román and of Philippe Jaccottet by Rafael-José Díaz. It intends to analyse the reasons and consequences of a poet’s dedication to translation. In these two cases, we will check the different ways of translation by these poets and how their translations are related to their own literary work. This sustained commitment to the translation of two great poets of the German and French literatures shows the breadth of interests by two of the most recognised authors in recent Spanish poetry, although the aesthetical result is quite different in each case.
