Sabri Tandoğan’ın Hayatı ve Tasavvufî Görüşleri
One of the key areas within the field of Sufism (tasavvuf) is ricâlu’s-sûfiyye, comprising studies on the life stories, works, and sayings of Sufi masters. Throughout the history of Sufism, founders and pivotal figures have highlighted such Sufi biographies in their productions. As a result, biographical research continues to hold a significant place in contemporary Sufi studies. In the book under review, the life, writings, and Sufi views of an important figure who passed away in 2015 are examined. The chronological progression of his life is carefully presented. Additionally, the book includes valuable notes gathered from his devoted companions and spiritual descendants, known as gönül dostları and manevî evlatları. Although the work commemorates his legacy through the individuals he nurtured—serving as reflections of his own spiritual journey, it primarily aims to illuminate his Sufi thought. The book situates Sabri Tandoğan’s perspectives within the fundamental concepts of Sufism. Furthermore, while analyzing his written works, it provides content analyses alongside references to their different publication dates.
