Prijevod s komentarima s naglaskom na jednak učinak na čitatelje ciljnog teksta

This thesis comprises five translations with commentary. Excerpts from three books were translated from English into Croatian (Skyfaring: A Journey with a Pilot, On Freedom, The Great Hippopotamus Hotel), and two from Croatian into English (Mali i Levijatan, Priča sa zapadne strane: Tipologija srednjebrončanodobnog keramičkog materijala s prostora zapadne Slavonije). The commentary focused on the translator’s aim to produce equivalent effect with the target text reader. As the commentary explains, translation choices were shaped by a combination of audience awareness, text type, and the goal of maintaining equivalence of effect.
