Motor vehicle engine lubricants and their viscosity classes according to SAE, API and ACEA
The paper presents the author's own scientific representation and original point of view on the technical acceptability of lubricants for automotive thermal engines. In this way, those interested can become knowledgeable about the viscosity classes of engine lubricants according to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). Readers can also learn about some aspects of lubricants for racing and military automobile engines. Finally, the paper deals with two case studies of lubricants used in BMV car engines using different fuels, gasoline and diesel. The conclusions related to the research are then drawn.
