Ischemic disease of the brain under the conditions of low level radiation impact: some hematological aspects

The article presented is a continuation of the first report which dealt with the peculiarities of the hemostasiologic picture in patients with ischemic disease of the brain who had suffered from the catastrophe at Chernobyl atomic power station. It was shown that alongside with disturbances in the condition of the system of hemostasis according to the type of disseminated intravascular blood coagulation, disturbances of the reological properties of the blood are also observed which can be considered as an additional risk factor of thrombogenic hazard in patients with the ischemic disease of the brain who suffered as a result of an accident at Chernobyl atomic power station. The authors do not exclude the possibility that the revealed features of the system of hemostasis, reological properties of the blood and structural and functional parameters of erythron in examined patients who had suffered as a result of a nuclear accident can be due to different dose-forming factors -comparatively long influence of ionizing radiation in small doses with the predominant factor of internal radiation in patients who live on contaminated territories permanently and a short-term impact of ionizing radiation with a predominant component of external radiation in those who eliminated the accident.
