Diagnostic et quantification des hépatopathies diffuses par IRM : stéatose, hépatosidérose et fibrose
Diffuse liver diseases represent a major global health concern, with significant complications, high morbidity, and mortality rates. This thesis focuses on steatosis, liver iron overload, and liver fibrosis. For these diseases, accurate quantification of liver fat, iron, and fibrosis is crucial for diagnosis, prognostic assessment, treatment management, and follow-up. Given the limitations of liver biopsy, non-invasive MRI-based biomarkers such as PDFF, R2*, and stiffness have been rapidly developed. The thesis is structured into three chapters, corresponding to the MRI quantification of liver fat, iron, and fibrosis. Each chapter is followed by a research study. The appendix introduces the free MRQuantif software for the quantification of liver fat and iron. Overall, quantitative MRI for measuring liver fat, iron, and fibrosis has been extensively validated for its non-invasive nature, accuracy, and reproducibility.
