Variación fonética y enseñanza del español
This work aims to reflect on how the phonetic variation of Spanish can be integrated into the framework of teaching the language to foreigners. First, the pan-Hispanic perspective that conceives the language as a mosaic of varieties is presented and then, from this dynamic perspective, we reflect on the factors that condition the variation: geography, the sociocultural level of the speakers and the pragmatic aspects of the communication situation. Language contact is also introduced as a variation factor given the large number of languages that coexist with Spanish in the Spanish-speaking geography. Finally, a proposal aimed at teachers is presented that is conceived as a way of integrating phonetic variation in Spanish courses.
