Hacia una Micromovilidad Inteligente en la ciudad de Machala: Estrategias para una Gestión Sostenible y Saludable

Intelligent micromobility involves the use of different, simpler and lighter means of transport for personal use in the city. This form of mobilization allows cities to be more efficient, reducing high levels of pollution. Offering this type of mobility in Machala is seen as an alternative to reduce environmental degradation, control vehicular congestion, achieve more sustainable environments and promote physical activity. The research aimed to propose a model of intelligent micro-mobility in Machala, for a sustainable and healthy urban management, improving the quality of life of citizens and reducing the environmental impact. In addition, the mobility needs of the population were evaluated in order to establish more efficient mobilization strategies such as bicycles, electric skateboards and electric scooters, which generate a more responsible and sustainable environment. In addition, the research that was developed is proactive because strategies were established within the framework of citizen health, environmental protection and mobility in the city in a sustainable manner. Therefore, the methodological approach used is quantitative due to the implementation of surveys that were applied in the territory, allowing to clarify in a broad and rigorous way the reality of the study. From this perspective, establishing intelligent micromobility strategies in Machala’s urban areas is important to minimize the environmental impacts caused by the use of pollution vehicles, that is, to reduce the levels of carbon dioxide (CO2), so that citizens can live in a more sustainable, ecological and healthy urban environment.
