Estrategia Pedagógica orientado hacia el Cuidado Ambiental para el Uso Adecuado De Los Residuos Sólidos Inorgánicos en primaria, Tumaco-Nariño
In educational institutions, environmental literacy is reflected in limited, basic ecological knowledge related to the environment and its context, as well as practical forms of conservation. Therefore, this research aims to promote knowledge for the proper use of plastic waste and environmentally harmful substances among fifth-grade students at the Salvi Educational Institution, Resguardo la Turbia, Tumaco, Nariño. To this end, a methodology with a qualitative, descriptive approach, based on an action research design, is developed. A questionnaire is also applied regarding students' knowledge level and attitudes toward solid waste management. Based on the results, an action plan is proposed and implemented, which is evaluated with a rubric. Among the results, it is observed that the level of environmental competencies of the evaluated students is very unsatisfactory in relation to recycling knowledge and practices. Ninety-two percent of students demonstrate a lack of prior knowledge, 54% underestimate the incidence of pollution, and 77% show active disinterest in engaging with other environmental activities, demonstrating the need for increased education and awareness. It is concluded that the practice of caring demonstrates that students are capable of actively participating in environmental protection, provided they are empowered to act autonomously and provided with the appropriate resources.
