EUDR efterlevnad : En fallstudie om en stor svensk importör inom europeisk koncern
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the EU: Deforestation Regulation affects large Swedish importers within a European group and what factors determine their obligations under the EUDR. Q1: What requirements does the EU: Deforestation Regulation place on large Swedish importers within a European group? Q2: How can a large Swedish importer within a European group adapt its purchasing and sales processes to ensure compliance with the EU Deforestation Regulation? Method: The study was conducted using an abductive research approach and exploratory design, where theory and empirical evidence were used interchangeably to identify patterns and relationships. The research method included qualitative thematic analysis of interviews and documents to systematically identify themes and draw conclusions based on the collected material. Conclusions: To answer the study's purpose, it is concluded that strict requirements are set to prevent deforestation, which requires some adaptation. Their responsibilities are determined by their size, role, and function in the supply chain. To answer Q1, it is concluded that the requirements are role classification, a due diligence system, information collection, risk assessment and risk minimization, and documentation. To answer Q2, it is concluded that the adaptations that are needed are formalized internal processes and systems, internal and external communication, digital system support, cross-functional teams, and collaboration.
