Protective risk factors (RPF) and risk perception (RP) were identified regarding drug consumption in a group of 1,042 high school students. A questionnaire was applied to the sample obtained by clusters and analyzed in Spss-26; A descriptive and correlational cross-sectional study of the variables related to the objectives was designed. The results obtained indicate that the average age of initiation of drug consumption is 14.29. High FRPs are identified in poor academic performance 47.9%, school norms 46.7%, fear of drugs 46.1%, family stability and cohesion 45.1%, healthy habits 45.0%, management style education 35.0%, participation in religious activities 25.4%, social participation and networks of friends 17.20%. PRD availability indicates that alcohol, marijuana, and electronic cigarettes as the first three substances that are easy to obtain in schools and the city. The most important correlation was found between the variables PRD School and PRD City direct association (r<.630). As conclusion, it was observed that drug consumption would be directly related to access and ease of obtaining them within schools and municipalities. The strong relationship between risk protection factors and risk perception indicates that consumption risks would decrease if the FRP were positively intervened in.
