Escenario y discordias institucionales: la Universidad Nacional del Litoral durante el gobierno militar (1943-1946)
The period from 1943 to 1946 in Argentina was marked by a military government that generated profound changes in the country's institutions. On July 28, 1943, General Ramírez appointed Professor Genta as Rector-Intervenor of the Litoral National University. This decision was made in a context of opposition and conflict that deepened the division between “Catholic’s Argentina” and “Liberal and secular’s Argentina”, represented in opposing university models. Despite these tensions, the Litoral National University in Santa Fe consolidated itself by defending liberal and secular values. The present research adopts a socio-historical approach, analyzing the institutional discord and conflicts at the Litoral National University during the military government (1943-1946), taking as a case study the Genta intervention and its impact on the governance, institutional and academic model. To this end, qualitative techniques are used for data collection, such as documentary analysis and in-depth interviews. This study seeks to provide a deeper understanding of institutional dynamics and the challenges faced by universities in periods of political change.
