Experimental methods for determining the consequences of a forest machine passing over the soil surface
The interaction of a wheeled or tracked vehicle with the soil surface of movement generates a number of consequences, the main manifestation of which is damage to vegetation, the formation of a technological rut and thermal power losses due to elastic deformation of tires and during slipping. The multifactorial nature of such processes is largely difficult to study using theoretical methods. Therefore, it is important to develop new and improve existing experimental research methods. The purpose of this study is to analyze available equipment suitable for performing experimental work related to the specified direction of research. The methodology for determining erosion and operational damage to a forest road is substantiated. Methods for determining the volume of soil removed as a result of repeated passage of a forest machine are systematized. The integral effect of the research is the formation of requirements for the experimental site for conducting relevant studies on acceptable operating modes.
