El fanzine ecuatoriano: pieza gráfica que transita entre el arte contemporáneo y el diseño editorial
Between the late 1980s and the 1990s, in Ecuador the fanzine became a recurring mode of expression, associated with collective artistic practice. In the 2000s, the penetration of the Internet caused this practice to decline. However, the same saturation of digital content would lead to this type of publications resurfacing, currently fusing design expressions with contemporary art practices. This work establishes a historical journey through the emergence, decline and rebirth of the national fanzine practice. The transformation in the graphic line, the changes in printing processes and techniques, as well as the supports used for the dissemination of content are analyzed. A series of interviews are used, as well as the analysis of graphic pieces that allow us to understand the transformations that have occurred on this editorial product.
