El legado de José María Flórez Rodríguez y sus implicaciones en el conocimiento geográfico y la enseñanza
On the recovery of the geographical legacy of José María Flórez Rodríguez and its valuation. An important figure in the pantheon of Asturian writers and artists is José María Flórez Rodríguez, an illustrious pedagogue from Cangas and author of numerous school texts, who enjoyed a reputation in the 19th century. However, despite being the first teacher and professor of Geography at the Central Normal School of the Kingdom, author of maps of the Iberian Peninsula and Europe, an "Elementary Geography of Spain" and the "Autographed Lessons on the Geography of Spain", he does not appear in any list of Spanish geographers and cartographers. This article aims to highlight his contributions.
