Enseñanza en el uso de aditivos químicos en la construcción: sostenibilidad ambiental y calidad de vida
Teaching about the use of chemical admixtures in construction aims to promote practices that reduce the environmental impact and improve the durability of concrete, a key material in the sector. This study explores how the application of chemical admixtures in concrete affects its consistency and strength in various environments. Through a descriptive-documentary study with a literature review, the benefits of admixtures such as superplasticizers and retarders are examined, which optimize concrete’s workability under extreme conditions, resulting in more durable and resistant structures. The main findings reveal that these admixtures help maintain concrete consistency, reducing slump loss and wear under adverse conditions, thus increasing construction efficiency and minimizing waste generation. It is concluded that integrating sustainability issues into engineering education and corporate training is crucial for implementing low-environmental-impact construction practices. The proper use of admixtures not only extends the life of buildings but also significantly improves sustainability, benefiting both society and the environment
