Diseño de materiales didácticos innovadores para la enseñanza de la ciencia y tecnología con los estudiantes de Tercero de Bachillerato, cantón Palora, provincia de Morona Santiago, Ecuador
This study addresses the design of innovative teaching materials for teaching science and technology in the third year of high school at the Palora Educational Unit, Morona Santiago Province, Ecuador. The research implemented a mixed methodology that combined qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze the specific educational needs of teaching materials. The findings revealed significant challenges related to the availability and effectiveness of educational resources at the institution, highlighting the need for new approaches to science and technology teaching. The study demonstrated that, although current teaching is generally positive, significant opportunities remain to improve educational quality through innovative teaching resources adapted to the Amazonian context. It also identified a notable student willingness to embrace educational innovation and their active participation in the implementation of new materials, a fundamental factor in ensuring the relevance and effectiveness of any teaching proposal. The results support the need for a systematic process for designing teaching materials that includes clearly defined planning, production, and implementation phases. The study concludes that the design and implementation of innovative teaching materials represent an effective strategy for improving educational quality in specific contexts such as the one analyzed, provided that these resources respond appropriately to the sociocultural characteristics of the environment and are developed through participatory processes that actively involve students and teachers.
