Digitaliseringen av demokratiskt inflytande : Hur man når den onåbara världen
The aim of this study is to examine how the digitalisation of society has affected democratic institutions’ role, thus how alternative power from the global arena has caused implications on the democratic system’s power dynamics. The relevance of the phenomenon have been showcased in enhanced supranational leveled acts and frameworks, but information around local authorities’ role in combating digital, global threats shines with its absence. Therefore interviews with experts on areas of defence, strategic communication and crisis management will be the thesis main substance, resulting in new data on the subject to be uncovered. Key themes that imbue the thesis research questions, purpose and problem statement, thus its results, are around democracy, digital threats and power. The questions and their answers revolve around the normative perspective, with a background lying in liberal democratic ideological norms and values. Individual perceptions and interpretations will therefore be a central aspect in the thesis results.
