Diseño universal en la danza inclusiva: hacia una accesibilidad total
In the contemporary context, the standardization of the body has led to exclusionary practices in various artistic disciplines, significantly limiting professional opportunities for people with disabilities. These limitations are especially reflected in the performing arts, where traditional body standards tend to exclude those bodies that do not fit the normative mold. This document analyzes the importance of universal design as a solution to promote total accessibility in the arts, with a particular focus on inclusive dance for wheelchair users. Universal design involves creating spaces and practices that accommodate the needs of all bodies, ensuring that people with disabilities can participate equitably in artistic activities. By integrating accessibility principles from the design stage, new professional opportunities are opened for these dancers, enabling true inclusion in dance.
