Determinantes en la Fuga Anastomótica Intestinal en Pacientes Post Operados de Restitución Intestinal
Restoration of intestinal transit is an essential surgical procedure for patients with intestinal stomas. This study focuses on determinants associated with anastomosis failure, which may arise after restitution. The objective is to associate the determinants of anastomotic failure in patients undergoing restitution, understand the pathologies involved and factors that influence morbidity and mortality. We included 20 patients over 18 years of age who underwent intestinal anastomosis in a period between 2022 and 2024. Data from 20 records were recorded using the Xi2 test to evaluate the association between variables. The main findings were that half had comorbidities and 45% had malnutrition; 8 anastomotic failures were recorded (40%), with a mortality of 10%. Factors such as albumin and hemoglobin levels showed a significant association with anastomotic failure. Anastomotic failure is one of the most feared complications with high morbidity and mortality rates. In the study, risk factors such as nutritional status, comorbidities and the type of surgical technique were identified, as well as adequate intestinal preparation and management. perioperative are crucial to minimize these complications.
