Desafios e considerações na intubação endotraqueal durante a gravidez
Introduction: Endotracheal intubation in pregnant women presents specific challenges and requires a detailed understanding of the complexities involved. Thus, endotracheal intubation during pregnancy demands careful con sideration of the particular factors influencing the procedure. Objective: To analyze, based on literature evidence, the chal.mlenges and considerations associated with endotracheal intubation during pregnancy. Methodology: This is a qualitative bibliographic research study aimed at exploring and ́[~]/analyzing the available evidence in the litera ture. Data were collectedfrom virtual databases, specifically using BVS, LILACS, MEDLINE, and Google Scholar. Results and Discussion: After the application of strict selection and exclusion criteria, the final sample was reduced to 11 articles, corresponding to approximately 30.6% of the total initially identified. Through this meth odology and a reflective reading of the data, four main categories were identified: I -Risk factors in endotracheal intubation in pregnant women; II -Efficacy of airway management interventions; III -Implications for maternal and fetal health; and IV -Practical recommendations from an anesthesiology perspective. Conclusion: Differences in clinical practices and management protocols between institutions can impact procedural outcomes and safety. Therefore, the lack of standardization in intubation guidelines may lead to inconsistencies in care, underscoring the importance of clear and widely accepted protocols.
