Creando espacios educativos saludables: Diseño salutogénico y calidad del aire en un contexto inclusivo.
This academic article addresses the importance of creating healthy educational spaces through a salutogenic design in an inclusive context, presented through a case study in an educational unit in the city of Guayaquil. The objective is to explore the perceptions of students with disabilities regarding their educational environment and analyze their actual needs to ensure an accessible and functional learning atmosphere. The research emphasizes deficiencies concerning accessibility regulations that limit students' autonomy and negatively affect their mental and physical well-being. Factors such as air pollution and architectural barriers impact students' learning and development. Surveys were administered to students at the “Anne Sullivan” Educational Unit to identify their perceptions of the current conditions of the educational space. The results reveal an urgent need to rethink the design of these educational spaces, highlighting that accessibility must be a central axis in inclusive educational policies. This article concludes that transforming educational environments into truly salutogenic places is essential for fostering the full development of each student's potential, thereby building a more equitable and just society. Interior design with a salutogenic focus not only improves physical accessibility but also adequately addresses psychological and emotional needs, promoting a comprehensive and balanced educational experience.
