From data to insight : Developing an Information System for Customer Prospecting in Audit and Financial Advisory Firms
This article has studied how an information system based on publicly available information can be developed, and how such a system can improve the prospecting process within audit and financial advisory firms. The study has been conducted within the scope of the research question: “How can the prospecting process within an audit and financial advisory firm be improved by an information system based on publicly available data?”, which in turn has been split up into multiple sub-questions. The information system has been developed as a web interface, with digital annual reports from the Swedish Companies Registration Office as the primary data source. The system uses large language models, logistic regression, syntax parsing and database search and filtering to retrieve and visualize company information för usage within prospecting processes. The result of the study shows good performance measurements, and the conclusion is that the developed system has good potential to support and therefore improve the prospecting process which is performed within the commissioning company.
