Correlación de bioimpedancia y antropometría simple en escolares de San Pablo del Monte, Tlaxcala
The present study evaluates the correlation of body composition (BC) through bioimpedance (BIA) and simple anthropometric measurements in 160 elementary school students from fourth to sixth grade. A weak positive correlation was found between BMI and totalbody fat percentage (BFP), with a Pearson's r of 0.216. The waistheightratio (WHR) indicates that, of the 89.19% of children with a very high BFP, 66.67% were classified as having no cardiometabolic risk (CMR). The low correlation between BMI and BFP highlights the limitation of BMI for assessing BC in children. Additionally, WHR emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive nutritional assessment
