Conscious Suffering

My honor’s thesis investigates the process of healing from trauma. The short film I created is the culmination of two years of research, thinking, and learning. The thesis allowed me to bring together my Film and Television Studies and Psychology majors. Making this film allowed me to develop my understanding of trauma through research, both through scholarly research and through filmed interviews with experts. It also allowed me to immerse myself in the skills and art of documentary filmmaking. My documentary short film explores healing from trauma in general through the specific example of a traumatic event that happened to my family.
